In the 1980's the Ohio Water Environment Association was concerned about the control of the quality of analysts working in our treatment plants and established a voluntary certification program for laboratory analysts. This program has met with success over the years and now, although not mandated by the State, many facilities require their analysts to have OWEA Laboratory Certification.
OWEA currently has certified over 700 people as a Class I, Class II, Class III, or Class IV analyst.
The OWEA Voluntary Wastewater Laboratory Certification Program exams will be held April 25, 2008 with application deadline March 14, 2008, and October 24, 2008 with the application deadline September 12, 2008 in Columbus and Cleveland. Applications postmarked after these dates will not be accepted. A fee of $95.00 must accompany the application.

Please make sure you fill out the application carefully, especially on page 2 where you are asked for Total hours hands on in laboratory work. Not completing the application properly could delay your receiving a certificate when you pass the exam.
